About the network Distributed South is a Media Arts initiative working to develop audiences and dialogue within the sector. Through residencies and partnership working across the South of England, Distributed South aims to move and inform policy within Media Arts and to drive forward new models of practice and approach to the field.

Great to see feedback on the meeting already. I really enjoyed the presentation and the discussion. At the end of the meeting we agreed a few ways forward; here is my summary - please add and make comments: * Face to face meetings AND the website are useful in development of the network. We need to do further work on the function of the website eg a timeline of everyone's activities

EVENT: Mette Ramsgard Thomsen talks about SLOW FURL at Lighthouse, Brighton

Mette Ramsgard Thomsen will introduce Slow Furl and its development, from concept to construction, and will talk about researching and developing interactive architecture work, and its creation. Slow Furl is a room size textile installation that acts and reacts on its inhabitation. The installation exists as a soft and pliable skin that lines the Lighthouse space. The skin shifts.
